Former Ajax star Jesper Olsen has backed Hakim Ziyech to prove a successful signing for Premier League side Chelsea. The Morocco international signed for the Blues from the Dutch champions in February this year and he has recently integrated into first-team training alongside his new teammates.
In an interview covered by Goal.com, Olsen said that he has no doubts over the ability of Ziyech and backed him to be a success with the west London giants. He added to praise manager Frank Lampard and believes the attacking brand of football played by the Blues would suit Ziyech, he told: “There’s no doubt he will be a success at Chelsea. I think Frank Lampard has done a really good job.
“He knows the club inside out. Seems to be very good in terms of management and playing style. This is the important thing, he wants to attack and play offensive football. That will not be a problem [for Ziyech]. The players coming out of Ajax, they are like that. Being a defender or midfielder, you are attacking-minded. No doubt about that.” You can get good odds at https://www.sport-betting.ng on his scoring more than 15 goals this season.
Ziyech recently made his friendly debut for the Blues against Brighton & Hove Albion and he was hugely influential towards the goal scored by Timo Werner in the 1-1 draw. However, he suffered a knee injury before the hour mark of the contest and it remains to be seen whether he has avoided any setback.
The Blues were vastly hampered by injuries during the course of the previous campaign and Lampard will be hoping that there is no repeat this time around. Aside from Ziyech, they have signed Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva and the spending spree could continue. They also landed Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.
