Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona are expected to have a very busy summer transfer window as they look to add some fresh legs and new faces to the squad in a bid to compete for major trophies next season. The Catalan giants need a couple of additions to the squad and one of the areas where manager Ronald Koeman wants to strengthen is the attacking department. Koeman has reportedly told the club’s new president Laporta that he wants Erling Haaland as his first signing this summer and he has gotten the green light for the transfer discussions to start as soon as possible.
Lyon’s Netherlands international attacker Memphis Depay is another player under the Blaugrana’s radar and was strongly linked with a move to the Camp Nou last summer but only stayed back in France because Lyon and Barca could not reach an agreement for his transfer. The former Manchester United forward has worked with Koeman at the Netherlands senior team and would relish chance to reunite with his former boss at the Nou Camp.
Barca are expected to return for the attacker and have added him to a list of possible transfer targets this summer in a bid to pair him with Haaland upfront in what would be a very potent attack pairing at the club.
Also, with Messi’s future at Barca still uncertain, it would only be wise for the club to prepare for the worse just in case the Argentine forward decides to quit the club in the summer.
